Who we are

This privacy notice explains how New Life Carpet – Carpet Cleaning Service, a family-run carpet and upholstery cleaning business based in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, uses personal information provided through newlifecarpet.co.uk and when customers contact us.

Google advertising and your data: with your consent, Google receives and uses personal data from this website for advertising measurement and personalised advertising. Read how Google uses your personal data on Google’s Business Data Responsibility site. You can withdraw consent at any time using Cookie settings.

For any privacy request, email info@newlifecarpet.co.uk or telephone 07939 205695.

What information we collect

When you ask for a quote or contact us, you may provide your name, telephone number, email address, postcode, preferred visit date, property or access details, the type and condition of the items to be cleaned, messages and photographs. If you later book our service, we may also need the cleaning address and information needed to arrange and complete the work. Some website technologies may also process technical information such as browser details, device information and website usage.

Please avoid uploading photographs showing people, documents, financial details or other sensitive personal information unless necessary for your enquiry.

Why we use information and our lawful bases

  • Answering enquiries and preparing quotations: to reply to your request, assess what needs cleaning, discuss a suitable service, and arrange an appointment if you decide to proceed. Our lawful basis is usually taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and where relevant our legitimate interest in managing enquiries.
  • Providing booked services: to manage an agreed appointment, fulfil our contract with you, maintain necessary work records and deal with follow-up questions.
  • Business and legal records: to comply with relevant record-keeping, tax or legal obligations, and to handle legitimate disputes or requests.
  • Website security and operation: to maintain the website and protect it from misuse, where necessary for our legitimate interests or legal obligations.

We do not require consent to reply to a quote you have asked us to provide. We do not use your quote-request details to send unrelated promotional marketing without an appropriate lawful basis.

Who may receive your information

Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate our business, such as our WordPress website and hosting services, website form and email systems, and communications providers. If you choose to contact us through WhatsApp, your messages are also handled using WhatsApp’s service. We share personal information only when necessary to deal with your enquiry, provide a booked service, support site operation or fulfil legal duties. We do not sell customer enquiry details.

Photographs and quote form uploads

Photographs sent for a quote are used to assess the work and communicate with you. We may receive them through the website form, email or WhatsApp. Please submit only images relevant to your cleaning request. We will not use your private quote photographs for advertising or social media without asking for permission.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiry information only for as long as it is reasonably needed to answer the enquiry, follow up on requested work, deal with disputes or satisfy business and legal record-keeping obligations. Booking and payment records may need to be retained for longer where law requires it. When information is no longer needed, it should be securely deleted or anonymised. You can ask about the applicable retention period for your information by contacting us.

Cookies and Google advertising

Necessary cookies support the website and remember your cookie choices. The nlc_cookie_consent cookie records your choice, its date and the notice version for up to 180 days. It is not used for advertising.

Optional Google advertising: only if you select Accept optional or enable Google advertising cookies, we load Google Ads to measure which adverts lead to enquiries and support personalised advertising. This shares information with Google, including device and browser details, IP address, pages visited, advertising identifiers and conversion events. Our advertising conversion event does not include the name, email address, telephone number, message or photographs you enter in the quote form.

For details of how Google uses your personal data when you consent, visit Google’s Business Data Responsibility site. Google advertising cookies, such as _gcl_au and _gcl_aw, may last around 90 days. Google may use additional cookies on its own domains under its policies. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google cookie information.

Optional advertising is off until you agree. Reject optional keeps the Google advertising tag blocked. You can accept, reject or withdraw permission at any time with the Cookie settings control in the footer of every page. Withdrawing permission removes accessible advertising cookies from this site and reloads the page to stop the tag. You can also manage cookies already held on third-party domains through your browser or Google account settings. Your quote and contact options remain available regardless of your choice.

No separate Google Analytics tag is enabled by this consent setup; analytics storage stays denied. AdSense display advertising has been disabled on this website. External links, including WhatsApp, Facebook and Google, take you to services covered by their own privacy policies.

Transfers outside the UK

Some third-party website, communications or analytics providers may process information internationally. Where this happens, we are responsible for considering the applicable legal protections and appropriate safeguards. Contact us if you would like further information about a particular service or transfer.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis, you may have the right to access your data, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, or request data portability. You can also withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis. To make a request, contact info@newlifecarpet.co.uk.

If you are dissatisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator.

Automated decisions and changes to this notice

Our quote requests are reviewed to provide individual pricing; the form does not automatically decide prices or confirm bookings. We may update this notice when the site or our services change. Please revisit this page for the current version.
